More News

I have more news... and no I am not pregnant. It looks like from the comments on my last post a few of you are getting a little hasty with the baby news. We will wait for a bit on that one. But for now I just got called to be the Secretary in the Young Women's Presidency in our ward. I am really excited to work with the girls and the Presidency I will be working with is amazing. I really am lucky, however, I have this huge feeling of responsibility that is with me all the time(well for the last week anyway). Any of you that know me well know that I am very organized and I love lists, great attributes for a secretary to have but there are just so many things on that list already. Another interesting piece to the puzzle is that Brady is also in the Young Men's Presidency so we have to juggle mutual and Sunday's with the kids. I know it will prove to be a huge blessing for all of us and I can't wait to get to see just how wonderful the girls are. If any of you have any advice to share I want it...all of it. I know lots of you have served in callings similar to this or you just have good advice because you are awesome...please share! I can't wait to hear what you all have to say.

Laura said...: I really loved being in YW. The hardest part for me was finding the balance between wanting to be the girls' friend and needing to be their leader.

I don't think the girls would mind if you brought your kids to activities with you. At least, my girls never minded when I'd bring Makayla along. She was about 1 at the time.

The Wuthrich Family said...: Hey Beck I was in the yw for about 2 years and loved it. It was alright taking Hallee with me the girls loved it. Then she became the center of attention so I asked the bishop and he let me put her in nursery a couple months early. I was so worried that the girls wouldn't get anything from there lesson because Hallee had to have everyone laughing. It was a great calling.

Caden & Kamrie

Some of my friends do this and I love reading the adorable things that kids say so I thought I would start. Plus it is a great way to remember all the fun and maybe not so fun things my kids tell me.

January 2009: I was running on the new treadmill I got for Christmas and the kids were watching me like I was crazy. Kamrie, standing behind me says,
"Mom when you do that my bum jiggles."
I'm not sure if she really ment her's or mine but reguardless I started rinning faster just to burn all that jiggles.
December 2009: While arguing over what kind of cereal they were eating one morning...

C: It's Life!

K: No it's not, Life is the Tiger cereal.

C: No the Tiger cereal is Captain Mini-Wheats
November 5 2009: We were out shopping and we finally found a piggy bank for Kamrie. We have been looking for quite some time. I showed it to her and asked her if she would like to get it. She studied it, picked it up, shook it and said,

"It doesn't have anything in it."
She then proceeded to pick up several of them trying to find one with money in it. It was so cute. I explained really quick that we put money in it after we bring it home and she quickly understood. I love her innocence
October 2009: Kamrie after being told to do something replies...

I don't listen to you mom, I listen to my heart.

October 2009: This conversation took place one day after I told Caden we don't play the X-box everyday. C: Mom how do dreams come true?

M: Well, I'm not sure what you mean...

C: because I sort of wish I was in a different family

M: slight pause, a little taken aback.

C: Some families play Wii and X-box all day everyday
Oh how I hate video games!
April 17, 2009: The day I had Avery the kids and Grandpa and Grandma came and spent some time at the hospital with us. They saw me nursing and were interested but we didn't really explain it to them. Later that night when my mom was putting them to bed Kamrie said she was thirsty. Caden didn't give Grandma time to respond, instead he quickly said,

"Maybe she has some milk in her boo boos."

Since then we have had to explain how nursing works. I guess it is a little hard for a 4 year old to take in.
April 17, 2009: A few days after Avery and I came home from the hospital we were laying on the couch and I overheard Kamrie talking to my mom after her nap one day. This is what she said...

"my life is tough like Cinderella."

She is so dramatic.
January 2, 2009: Caden has been saying some pretty interesting things in his prayers lately. The latest that made me laugh started a couple of weeks ago and he rarely leaves it out when he prays.

"Please bless that we can travel safely when we move."
We haven't really talked much about the move since it is at least 4 months away, but whatever we have said really must have stuck with him.

October 31st 2008: Tonight when we got home from Trick or Treating Kamrie was saying her prayers and this escaped her

..."Please bless Johnen and all the candy he gave me."
It was hard not to laugh but I think all the candy was really important to her. Thanks John and Lindy.
Wednesday October 1st 2008: Today I was busy doing something when Caden asked if I could help him find his cape. I told him just a minute and went on doing what I was doing. He came in and asked again, a little more frazzled this time and still I told him just a minute. Soon he came back, cape in hand, and grinning from ear to ear...

"I found it mom!!! I was looking and I just said a prayer to Jesus and when I opened my eyes there is was. "
I'm so lucky to get to learn from him each and every day. This was such a great teaching moment for him and for me. Thanks for the great example Caden.

Thursday July 31st 2008: This morning when Kamrie was saying a prayer over her breakfast I was helping her and I mentioned being thankful for our family, here is what came out..."I am thankful for my Caden and my family."

She really does love that boy.

Also, Caden was about to eat breakfast this morning and he said,

"Mom, 4 year olds don't sit in baby chairs (booster seats), can I sit in a family chair today?"

He is turning into such a big boy, or at least he sure thinks so.
Friday July 18th 2008: Caden and Kamrie were in the bath and Caden discovered that he liked putting his head under the Tap while the water is running. Of course he complained when I turned it off and continued the bath routine. Later he was wispering and I asked what he was saying, his response was... "

I'm trying to turn that thing on with magic words."

Sunday June 15th 2008: We had a little cookout with some friends for Father's Day and Caden was in Heaven because he got to spend time with his best friend Macy. As we watched them play we caught them dancing on the playground so later I asked him if he had fun, hoping to get him to talk about it a little bit. The conversation went like this,

Me: "Did you have fun with Macy tonight?"

Caden: "Yes, I tried to get her to marry me."

Me: "Really, what did she say?"

Caden: "She said YES but we didn't know the directions."

This was all said in such seriousness that I couldn't help but walk out of the room laughing to myself. These two are adorable...I have said it before but I really hope they find each other in about 20 years at BYU or something.

Wednesday June 11th 2008: Caden has this new adorable thing he does. At first I just thought that he was just overflowing with love and wanted to hug me ALL the time but then I caught on...each time he eats a meal, a snack, sometimes even just a drink he runs up and grabs my leg and presses his head against me. Sounds like a hug right? Well, I thought so too but I finally realized that he was measuring himself against me. You see he isn't the greatest eater so we are constantly telling if he eats certain things he will grow big and strong and he has really taken it to heart. So much, in fact he has to measure himself every time he eats.

Thursday May 22nd 2008: I had put Kamrie down for her nap and she was climbing out because she wasn't really ready to go to sleep yet. Each time she climbed out I would go put her back in and walk away. After about the third time, I heard her opening the door to her room slowly while saying to herself...

"You're not the boss mom."

We are in trouble with this one!
Saturday May 10th 2008: I was playing with Kamrie in the living room and Caden was in the Kitchen when out of the blue he came running in yelling "mom, mom" with all the excitment his little 3 year old body could muster. I quickly asked what all the excitment was about and throwing his little leg in my direction he replied,

"Mom! I have hair on my legs if you

look closer!!!"

I thought 3 was a little early to get excited about body hair but he was ecstatic.
Wednesday May 7th 2008: So about a week ago Kamrie learned how to get out of her crib. She came downstairs during naptime one day and when I asked how she got out of her crib she replied,

"I just climbed and climbed."

Tuesday April 15th 2008: Yesterday I was making a treat for FHE and the kids were coming in and out helping with whatever they could. Kamrie walked in as I was putting the Peanut butter in and said,

"I like it already!"

Have I mentioned this girls love for food!?!

Monday March 24th 2008: One of my friends just had surgery so we had her little girl over to play for a while this morning. When we went to pick her up Kamrie (remember she is only 19 months old) said,

"Hi Lexi, cute shoes!"

What a GIRL!!!
Wednesday March 19th 2008: So today I was putting away some really heavy totes in our storage closet and I asked Caden to help me. I could tell he felt really important because he was helping me with HEAVY things. After we were done I told him thank you for helping and he replied,

"Your welcome mommy, no problem at all."
What a tough guy!!!
